As a sollicitor, Alexander has worked almost exclusively in family law practice and gained extensive litigation experience. Alexander applies his work experience to conducting legal proceedings, including summary proceedings and imposing (marital) attachments.

He specialises in the financial settlement of (marital) separations and has extensive experience with and affinity for entrepreneurs. In the context of divorce, beyond the personal interests and emotions of the separating partners, the continuity and interests of the business are equally important. His knowledge of business law and corporate structures makes Alexander particularly well-suited to assist business owners’ partners. He strives for the best result based on realistic principles.

International practice

Alexander completed the vFAS specialisation course in Private International Law with distinction (cum laude). He is a fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL). IAFL is a worldwide association of family lawyers who are recognised by their peers as the most experienced and skilled family law specialists in their jurisdiction. He is also a fellow of the association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC). AFCC is the leading interdisciplinary and international association of professionals dedicated to resolving family conflicts.

Alexander was appointed Officer/Executive Committee member of the International Association of Young Lawyers/Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats (AIJA).

In his daily practice, he assists foreign lawyers and private individuals with Dutch family law and procedural law. Through this, he has been able to build up a cross-border network.

Divorce mediator & collaborative lawyer

Alexander is also a divorce mediator and collaborative lawyer. He has extensive experience in applying new media to the mediation process. In his view, new media in the mediation process offer more possibilities and flexibility. He has completed the vFAS specialisation course in family law, the training to become a specialised divorce mediator, and the specialisation course to become a collaborative professional. Alexander is registered in the quality register of the Netherlands Mediators Federation (www.mfnregister.nl) and is also a board member of the federation.

Chairman of vFAS (Association of Family Law and Inheritance Lawyers and Divorce Mediators)

In addition to being a family law lawyer, divorce mediator and collaborative lawyer at LINK Lawyers, Alexander served as chairman of the Association of Family Law and Inheritance Lawyers and Divorce Mediators (vFAS) and chairman of IMFO, the Institute for Mediation and Family Law Training, between 2018 – 2023.

The vFAS is the largest mediation association in the Netherlands and represents the interests of more than 1,000 family law and inheritance lawyers and divorce mediators. On behalf of vFAS, Alexander was involved in various working groups, committees and collaborations.

The IMFO provides, among other things, the mandatory professional training for all family law and inheritance lawyers and divorce mediators in the Netherlands.
