Alexandra Morot grew up in France before studying law in Leiden. She became a lawyer in 2001 and has specialised exclusively in family law since 2003. Due to her French background, she has excellent knowledge of French culture and speaks the language fluently.

Family law with international background

Alexandra has been assisting French-speaking clients since the beginning of her career. She is also regularly consulted by Dutch couples living in France who are divorcing there, to provide information about Dutch matrimonial property law.

Additionally, she is fluent in English, both written and spoken. Due to her international background, Alexandra has a particular interest in cross-border cases in the broadest sense of the word.

Alexandra is a decisive, practical and solution-oriented lawyer-divorce mediator with extensive litigation experience.

Mediation

Alexandra has done many mediations, including in French and in English. And when acting as a lawyer for one of the spouses, she will always try to consult with the other party to settle the consequences of the divorce.

Complex negotiations

She has extensive experience in conducting complex negotiations in which she enjoys working with tax specialists, accountants and pension experts in order to achieve the best possible settlement for all parties involved. In doing so, Alexandra takes into account that the (former) spouses often have to continue working with each other as parents of their children. But if the importance of the case or the client justifies it, she does not shy away from litigation. Her years of litigation experience mean she will go for the best result.

Education and experience

Alexandra has completed the vFAS specialisation course in family law and is also a divorce mediator. As a divorce mediator and collaborative divorce lawyer, she is a member of the vFAS and the Collaborative Professionals Association. She is also included in the quality register of the Mediators Federation Netherlands. Alexandra is also added to the list of French-speaking lawyers in the Netherlands of the French Consulate in Amsterdam and a member of the IPR Committee of the Association of Estate Planners in the Notarial Profession.
